Pharmacy TechnicianResponsibilities:

Medication Preparation and Dispensing: Assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, including filling and labeling medication bottles or blister packs.

Prescription Verification: Receive and verify prescriptions to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Patient Records Management: Maintain and update patient medication profiles to ensure all information is current and accurate.

Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory of medications and supplies, ensuring proper storage conditions.

Communication: Communicate with healthcare providers and nursing staff regarding patient medication orders and potential interactions.

Sterile Compounding: Prepare intravenous (IV) mixtures or other sterile products when required.

Packaging and Shipping: Package and ship medications to long-term care facilities.

Skills and Qualifications:

Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in preparing and dispensing medications.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain organized records.

Communication Skills: Effective communication with healthcare providers, patients, and team members.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in using pharmacy software and understanding pharmacy procedures.

Certification: Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is often required or preferred.
