JOB SUMMARY

The Robot/Controls Engineer is responsible for all programming activities, including but not limited to robotics, networking, and process development for automated industrial systems.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Author/Edit PLC, robot and/or various other controls programming for standard products and custom equipment to meet desired results

Work closely with project manager and customer from quote preparation to project runoff

Evaluate feasibility of projects including the completion of time studies

Collaborate with multi-disciplined teams to develop a complete integrated solution

Participate in design approval and risk assessments

Develop application processes to deliver desired results

Participate in quality audits

Participate in installation and start up activities

Perform simulations & offline programming of automated systems

Support sales with demos as needed

Prepare customer documentation including operations and maintenance manuals

Recommend new technologies for solving technical challenges

Stay current with emerging technologies relating to automated systems

Continue to develop a broad base of engineering skills in support of overall organizational growth

Evaluate, select, and develop new applications for emerging technologies; therefore, maintaining Adaptec Solutions’ unique value proposition to the automation market

Travel to customer and supplier locations as necessary

Support Service Department with programming, process and troubleshooting needs

Provide customer training both at Adaptec Solutions and on-site at customer facilities

Adhere to company standards and processes

Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION

B.S. Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology Field or equivalent experience required

SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE JOB:

Programming Methods Required

Rockwell RS Logix – latest version

Rockwell Panel View Software

Fanuc Handling Tool

Fanuc Roboguide

Knowledge of pneumatic systems design and documentation.

Experience of electrical systems

Energetic “can do” attitude.

Hands on approach to problems solving.

Ability to read electrical & pneumatic schematics.

Excellent attention to detail.

Comfortable to work independently and as a team.

Including ability to set and manage multiple priorities, and to set and meet deadlines.

Ability to maintain accurate records and data files.

Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact with diverse internal and external groups.

Structured Programming Languages (C, Java, .Net, etc.)

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $75,000-$90,000. The salary range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Adaptec Solutions considers factors including, but not limited to experience and geographic location.
