DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing caseworkers who are involved in delivering a wide range of services to clients. This involves providing guidance, support, and direction to the caseworkers to ensure that they are effectively carrying out their duties and responsibilities. You will also be tasked with orienting and training new staff members who are assigned to the work unit. This will involve familiarizing them with the policies, procedures, and protocols of the organization, as well as providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their roles effectively.

Additionally, you will be responsible for supervising the caseworkers assigned cases to ensure that the clients needs are being met and that the appropriate services are being provided. This will involve ongoing assessment and evaluation of the cases to determine the need for continuing service and related services as required. You will also be required to consult with caseworkers during their after-hours on-call activities to provide support and guidance as needed. This will involve being available to provide assistance and advice to caseworkers during these times.

Another aspect of the role will involve developing the efficiency and skill of the caseworkers in determining the provision of services within established policy. This will be achieved through individual and group conferences to aid the client in utilizing all available resources. Furthermore, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing case records to determine the quality of services rendered. This will involve assessing the effectiveness of the services provided and identifying areas for improvement. You will also be involved in the planning and carrying out of in-service training activities, as well as planning and conducting ongoing training activities for staff members. This will involve identifying training needs and developing programs to address these needs.

Additionally, you will be responsible for evaluating staff performance, culminating in service ratings, and making recommendations regarding personnel actions. This will involve providing feedback and guidance to staff members to support their professional development. You will also be responsible for planning and supervising the administrative aspects of the work, such as assigning cases, districting, and the flow of work. This will involve ensuring that the workload is distributed effectively and efficiently. Another aspect of the role will involve contacting other agencies and interpreting the program to the community. This will involve building relationships with external organizations and promoting the agencys child protection mission through presentations and outreach activities. You will also be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of agency services and contracted service providers.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Flexibility in schedule is required, weekends ncluded.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelors degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Other Requirements:
Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Armstrong, Butler, Indiana, Jefferson, Clarion, or Westmoreland counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.

Legal Requirements:
You must pass a background investigation.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
