Sr. Endoscopic Procedure Tech (Full Time, 40, Day)

RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the daily activities of the Endoscopic Procedure Technicians to ensure optimum workflow and operational efficiencies.
• Provides work leadership and serves as a resource to staff; assures staff’s proficiency in all procedures.
• Ensures quality service and patient care in the department.
• Performs duties of an Endoscopic Procedure Technician.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: standing, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing; lifting and pushing/pulling maximum 50 pounds of force; carrying usual weight of 10 pounds; reaching above, at and below shoulder level; repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping on an object.
• Frequent: walking, speaking.
• Occasional: stooping/bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, twisting body.
• Operates various office, radiographic and hospital equipment.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Subjected to noise/vibration from radiographic equipment noise.
• Exposure to body fluids, communicable diseases, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, radiation, odors and skin irritants.
• Work environment is fast paced, frequently stressful; works on multiple tasks and priorities at the same time and requires critical decision-making.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Current GI Technical Specialist (GTS) certification by the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA).
• Current certification in BLS/HCP.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Two (2) years experience as an Endoscopic Procedure Technician, preferably in a comparable medical center.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic technique.
• Prior supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
