Idaho Power — located in Oxbow, Oregon — is looking for an Accommodations Team Member to join our Power Supply team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. What does an Accommodations Team Member do for us?

The Accommodations Team Member supports Idaho Power Company’s Oxbow crew quarters, guest house, and mess hall to provide meals and lodging to employees and outside visitors. For the mess hall, the Accommodations Team Member prepares and cooks food, provides service to customers, sets tables, and maintains the cleanliness of the kitchen and facilities – including dishes, bathrooms, floors, and deep cleaning once per week. They serve up to 25 people and occasionally up to 50 people and prepares cafe style food daily for employees in the area. For the crew quarters/guest house, the Accommodations Team Member cleans and sanitizes the rooms, floors, bathrooms, showers, laundry, and makes the beds. They are required to deep clean monthly, including washing windows, shampooing carpets, and maintaining the outside area free of weeds and debris. They must work a monthly rotation between cooking and cleaning accommodations and substitutes for the regular cook during illness, vacation, or other absence on an on-call basis.

Food and beverage preparation principles according to menu requirements

Food handling

Cooking

Health sanitation regulations and requirements

Skills in:

Food service

Professional cleaning of motel rooms.

Professional personal presentation and self-hygiene

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

High school diploma or GED

OR

Equivalent related work experience

Preferred:

High school diploma or GED

Experience:

At least 6 months of work experience in food preparation/handling

Preferred:

1 year of work experience in a restaurant services role

Licenses & Certifications:

Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position

Must be able to obtain and maintain a food handlers’ card within one week of hire

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must stand for long periods of time. May start work as early as 4 a.m. M.S.T. and work as late as 7:30 p.m. M.S.T. This work is physically demanding and usually requires full days of standing/walking. Requires repetitive motion of hands and wrists, trunk strength, and manual dexterity. Job requires the ability to occasionally bend, squat, climb up/down on small step stool, twist, balance, and reach. Job requires rarely lifting items weighing 10 lbs. shoulder height and above; occasionally lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs. waist high and knee high; use exertional force less than 50 lbs.; frequently use manual grasp and fine hand manipulation. Applicant must be able to perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat of harm to self, others, or property. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Must perform monthly rotating shifts and cross-functional support on shifts among the Mess Hall and Crew Quarters/Guest House (Early shift – 5:00am-1:30pm; Crew Quarters shift – 6:00am-2:30pm; Dinner Cook shift – 11am-7:30pm). Job requires the ability to respond and assist with food and lodging needs due to crew emergencies outside of and/or in excess of normal working hours. Job requires infrequent travel with overnight stays for trainings. Prefer the ability to respond within a 60-minute time frame.
