Summary You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN (SUBMARINE LOCAL AREA NETWORKS (SUBLAN)) in the Fleet Technical Support and Test Division, Weapons Repair Department, of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR. Responsibilities You will conduct shipboard system/equipment operational and maintenance assessments and continuous operational maintenance data assessments for submarine Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) and Submarine Local Area Networks. You will design, implement, perform, and evaluate local test plans/procedures to determine material readiness; identifying and resolving discrepancies, and providing over the shoulder maintenance training to ships force and shop personnel. You will provide engineering, technical, logistics oversight, guidance, and support to shipyard personnel during repair, replacement, overhaul, and testing. You will identify and resolve logistics and configuration management problems to improve material condition readiness. You will perform upgrades by providing alteration installation team support including modernization/installation testing, and shipboard technical and logistics support during system/equipment modernization installations You will create and develop plans and procedures for isolation and resolution of difficult and complex shipboard system problems. You will coordinate, direct, and review subsystem testing, devise new tests, and modify existing tests to support new equipment configurations or conditions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying technical electronic engineering methods and principles to conduct operational and maintenance assessments of shipboard installed electronic Command and Control and non-propulsion electronic systems and associated software; analyzing findings to identify deficiencies or trends; and recommending corrective actions in support of the modernization, installation, repair, and maintenance of shipboard networked systems. For the GS-10: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying technical electronic engineering methods and principles to conduct operational and maintenance assessments of shipboard installed electronic Command and Control or non-propulsion electronic systems and associated software; analyzing findings to identify deficiencies or trends; and developing feedback reports in support of the modernization, installation, repair, and maintenance of shipboard networked systems.
