Summary You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in the Information Technology and Cyber Security Department of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will work in responsible areas, such as production support and telecommunication support offices. You will consult with customers to identify and specify requirements. You will assist with planning, designing, developing and integrating network systems consistent with existing infrastructure, maintaining network architecture and infrastructure. You will implement and adhere to Cyber Security requirements of a various network-based communications systems to include Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP). You will maintain liaison with and being responsive to the needs of all users of information systems on the network. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing telephone customer support services by designing, installing, setting up, servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing of numerous types of telephone related equipment. Equipment include but are not limited to Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Private Branch Exchange (PBX) based communications systems, Analog telephones, Digital telephones, and associated peripheral equipment. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. 1. Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: ensuring effectiveness in meeting user requirements and accuracy of estimated time frames and project problem areas. 2. Customer Service – Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Consulting with customers to identify and specify requirements. 3. Oral Communication – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Liaison with, and being responsive to the needs to all users of information systems on the network. 4. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
