Purchasing Assistant

This full time position is primarily responsible for assisting with purchasing merchandise or commodities for resale. Must be able to work hybrid 2 days out of the week at the headquarters office in Elkridge, MD.

– Submits purchase orders based on sales orders.
– Communicates with vendors, sales representatives, and manufacturers to ensure smooth
– transaction with orders, constantly updates on lead times, product stock and quantities to provide
– customer satisfaction.
– Retrieves and updates system reports.
– Works hand in hand with sales team providing important information regarding orders.
– Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action with Assistant Controller
– Works closely with and is back up to the Purchasing Manager and Logistics Administrator. Back up order checker.

Insider Threat

What you are responsible for:

a.Be knowledgeable of reportable Insider Threat related incidents and behavioral indicators outlined in the attachment.

b.Be knowledgeable of how to contact the ITPSO/FSO and/or AFSO.

c.Follow the reporting procedures for reporting the incident, and cooperate with or assist investigators and other Norseman senior management officials in the conduct of their official duties.

d.Not discuss the details of the incident that they have reported to anyone else unless authorized by the investigator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors Degree; or 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance

instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability

to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,

percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and

geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral,

or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in

standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general knowledge of Accounting

Software; Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Microsoft Office; Order Processing Systems.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously,

meet deadlines, and handle work-related stress is required.

Friendly, courteous, service-oriented, professional, outgoing, and customer service

oriented.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to work outside of regular business hours, which will include nights and

weekends to meet customer requirements.

Knowledge of accounting terminology and using spreadsheets and/or automated

accounting systems.

Comprehensive k owledge of accounting theories and practice.

PAY RANGE AND COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

59K-65K per year
