Overview:

Marathon Petroleum Company LP has an opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager at its Catlettsburg, KY Refinery. Duties include managing a team of four professionals who perform the procurement of materials, chemicals, catalyst, lab and general supplies, supplier relations and the associated processes in support of the overall needs of the refinery. Candidates must be dynamic self-starters who work collaboratively, are results oriented, and driven by continuous improvement and learning.

The SC Manager will lead the Catlettsburg Refining (CBG) Operational Procurement Team who perform,

Purchase order execution for material, equipment, lab supplies, chemicals and catalyst, and general warehouse supplies.

Ensures the timely delivery of purchase orders as well as expediting past due purchase orders.

Manage invoices (VIMS) to ensure suppliers are paid in a timely manner.

Monitor material / supply sourcing agreements.

Monitor and execute auto-sourcing candidates.

Perform bid processes such as RFQ / RFI. Evaluate competitive bids and quotations.

The Supply Chain Manager is a working manager in combination with managing the employees on the team. Work activities such as trouble shooting complex purchase to pay issues, analyzing reports, and working with suppliers are expected responsibilities of the SC Manager. The SC Manager will ensure that the team takes full but fair advantage of its commercial position when procuring materials, equipment, and chemicals while maintaining proper internal controls and conducting its business in accordance with company policies and procedures. This position reports to Donna Davis, CBG Supply Chain Director.

Responsibilities:

Maintains a strong working relationship with peer business stakeholders and Supply Chain leadership to ensure that short- and long-term goals and initiatives are implemented.

Develops and executes strategies in collaboration with key business partners, suppliers, and the Supply Chain Director to pursue and implement opportunities by leveraging volume and maximizing value delivery.

Assists in the establishment of organizational goals and metrics and leads direct reports in delivery.

Ensures direct reports are trained and operating per Supply Chain and Company policies and procedures and provides developmental guidance to achieve best value for business partners and Company.

Manages the “purchase to pay” activities in Supply Chain’s area of responsibility.

Provides leadership to the team, including performance coaching and developmental activities.

Leads and participates in the identification, development, implementation and effective use of systems and processes to provide continuous improvement to activities associated with procurement and materials management.

Manages the work group and associated responsibilities, along with personal work responsibilities, while handling the demands of a fast paced, constantly changing work environment.

Possesses a strong understanding of Supply Chain procedures and policies, sourcing and negotiation strategies, total cost of ownership, resources for risk mitigation, and day-to-day operation of procurement systems.

Possess the skills and competencies of a “role model” leader.

Serves as a role model and coach for individuals, teams, and the organization.

Provides feedback, instruction, and developmental guidance to others.

Delegates effectively and ensures the effective allocation of work and resources.

Understands and acts on operational procurement KPIs and Metrics.

Sets high goals for both personal and group accomplishment.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required. Supply Chain, Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering, Marketing, IT, Business preferred.

Ten (10) years’ relevant experience is required.

Knowledge of procurement processes is required, SAP, Ariba systems, and Microsoft Office products knowledge preferred.

Prior leadership, field, and industry experience preferred.

Bachelor’s degree required. Supply Chain, Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering, Marketing, IT, Business preferred.

Ten (10) years’ relevant experience is required.

Prior leadership, field, and industry experience preferred.
