A Brief Overview
Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.
The BERT RN goal is a preventative measure with our behavioral population in identifying and resolving issues to prevent Code Violets, dissatisfaction of care, and early identification of contributing factors that may lead to agitation. They would response to Code Violets and be responsible for communication, identification of issues to be resolved, and follow up.
The position will require a skill set in medical as well as behavioral health nursing, familiarity with de-escalation and communication skills as well as identification of effective problem solving and working within various teams. The goal is to build the team for 24 hour coverage in all areas of the hospital at CMC and will be an innovative and autonomous position facilitating evidenced based practice and skill set

Implements the nursing process by delivering effective relationship based nursing care.
Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes.
Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations.
Develops self and contributes to the professional practice of nursing.
Displays leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
