The Supervisor Finance Shared Services partners with the Senor Accounting Manager to provide team leadership for day-to-day Accounts Payable tasks. The Supervisor is responsible for workflow and management of multiple priorities while serving as a resource to process transactions, and works with others cross-functionally to resolve issues and implement continuous improvement processes.

Major Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership of the team

Select, coach, and develop staff by setting clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team. Manage performance by recognizing achievement, providing feedback, and administering corrective action when necessary.

Provide day-to-day support to the AP Specialists by resolving complex questions, escalated situations, and identifying areas for process improvements. Ensure the workload of the team is managed, interviewing and hiring, monitoring and evaluating team goals to ensure achievement.

Serve as AP Automation expert by monitoring manual queues, cleaning up transactions and directing the team where to focus. Assist the Accounting Analyst with AP automation improvements by analyzing inefficiencies and proposing improvements.

Responsible for voids & resets, manual payments, and other bank/payment related transactions.

Facilitate relationships with internal departments to collaborate on new solutions. Develop strong working relationships across the company to better understand business needs and to provide superior shared services support. May participate and, at times, lead cross-functional teams.

Acts as back-up for duties within Shared Services.

Work with the Accounting Manager to create/maintain Shared Services policies and procedures.

Other Miscellaneous Duties

Aid the Manager with strategic planning for the team

Become proficient with SAP to contribute to the success of the role

Problem solve & execute resolution while maintaining a positive work environment

Ensure SOX compliance related to accounting and shared services

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education

Associate degree in accounting, finance, business administration or equivalent experience

Work Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Accounts Payable role

Minimum of 2 years’ experience leading, mentoring, or supervising a team

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Strong problem-solving skills

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Project management and organizational skills

Expertise in a variety of shared service concepts (AP/AR), practices, and procedures

Proficient with MS Office, Excel specifically; and must have knowledge of basic Excel formatting and formulas

Preferred Job Requirements:

Experience in a global manufacturing environment

Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP

Experience with system conversions

Knowledge of and exposure to sales and use taxes and foreign currency transactions

Experience with check run, wire and ACH payment processing

Experience with Integrated computer systems

Experienced in issue escalation related processes

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 – 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
