RADIOLOGY SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL

The Radiology Support Professional is responsible for 4 main functions within the department:
Customer Service Associate/Department Operator for the department of radiology with customers and physicians.
Scheduling of appointments based on the physician’s orders and the needs of the individual patient.
Image and report management and exchange (addendums, burning, importing, exporting, mailing, etc).
Check in and registration of patients receiving care within the radiology departments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT(S):
High School diploma required.
Associates degree in a Healthcare discipline with three to five years’ experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
Medical terminology background is highly preferable. Knowledge and understanding of hospital functions is helpful.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and receive work direction from multiple people.
Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information and to maintain strict confidentiality is essential. Willingness and flexibility to change hours as needed and on short notice.
Excellent communication with the patient, radiologists, and physician’s office, and other hospital departments while maintaining high degree of professionalism and positive customer relations is vital.
Goals include optimizing all schedules and appointments of all modalities, meeting department objectives.
Accuracy: of patient registration, verification of demographics, insurance and financial information.
Coordination of special procedures appointments such as: scheduling Biopsies, Lumbar punctures, Interventional Radiology, Vascular, and cardiology procedures. Must be able to obtain prior studies and results, must be able to order special blood work for certain procedures.
Cross training- required to cross train and support all programs and other duties assigned to them.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Should be able to push/pull, lift/move 15 lb., be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, writing, and filing for extended periods of time, must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers. Mobility requirements may include the ability to be stationary at a workstation for a prolonged period time in addition to being able to squat or be mobile for a reasonable length of time and distance. Communication requirements include the ability to comprehend the spoken English language in addition to being able to communicate and read the English language.

Salary Range: $15.84-23.08/hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
