Job Summary

Dominion Energy South Carolina (DESC) is hiring for an Associate LNG Technician/LNG Technician. This open position works in a control room environment monitoring the facility process HMI system and Security system and is located at our LNG Plant, Bushy Park Road, Goose Creek, SC. There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidates education, experience, knowledge skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities will be to maintain and operate liquified, natural gas plant equipment and facilities. This includes engine-driven, reciprocating, natural gas compressors and ancillary equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, filters, instrumentation and controls, etc.), piping, boilers, valves, storage tanks, reciprocating air compressors, auxiliary generator, and heaters. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Performs installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair of computer systems controls, and microprocessor-based controls.

Installs, calibrates, performs preventive maintenance, and repairs hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, electronic, and air monitoring equipment and instruments.

Tests, repairs, and maintains regulatory and measurement equipment.

Completes all facility logs as directed (electronic and hard copy).

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):

Associate LNG Technician:

0-2 years of related experience in power plant operations, industrial setting process, or operations.

LNG Technician:

3 or more years of related experience in power plant operations, industrial setting process, or operations.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Both Levels:

Effective communication skills

Mechanical or Electrical degrees are preferred

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Associate

Preferred Discipline(s): Mechanical, Electronic or related field

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Must possess a valid drivers license and operate a company vehicle.

Working Conditions

Operating Machinery 76-100%

Office Work Environment Up to 25%

Travel Up to 25%

Other Working Conditions

Safety sensitive position subject to DOT Random Drug Testing.

Work around rotating machinery, high pressure equipment, and high voltage hazards.

Requires climbing and working above ground at heights up to 150 Ft.

Work around flammable gasses and liquids.

Subject to outside environmental conditions during all seasons.

Travel typically less than 20%.
