Job Description
The Technical Service Representative will be responsible for product recommendations, troubleshooting product/process issues, addressing product quality concerns, and conducting root cause analysis for existing and prospective customers.
This role requires independent management of pressure-sensitive adhesive projects, from formulated resin to plant production and customer trials. Responsibilities include internal and external communication on project progress, contributing to business growth initiatives, early customer engagement to develop technical requirements, and developing technical plans that align with customer and business expectations.
The Technical Service Representative will test adhesives, analyze results, scale up approved adhesives in pilot and production stages, lead customer coating trials, and provide technical support post-commercialization. This role demands close collaboration with cross-functional teams, delivering technical presentations, and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental guidelines.
Qualifications –
B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related
Minimum of 5 years of adhesive experience
Must be comfortable giving presentations to customers
Location –
This is a fully on-site position in Columbus, Ohio.
Environment –
In a chemical laboratory. Will have an office of your own! Youll spend some time testing in the lab and some time travelling to customers.
60% in the lab doing testing
30% writing reports and presentations
10% travel
