Verdantas is seeking a Field Technician I . This position will be located in Toledo, Ohio .
Responsibilities:
Serve on two-person drone and field crews tasked with field-locating potential oil and gas wells. This may require the use of equipment including GPS units, drones, magnetometer sensors, UTVs, handheld metal detectors, and shovels
Ability to load/unload UTV onto/off trailer, tow trailer, and navigate in tight areas (with spotter) preferred
Performing drone aerial surveys
Performing environmental monitoring and sampling at sites, including at refineries
Oversight of contractors on a variety of projects including work within the following market areas: refineries, civil infrastructure, alternative energy, brownfields, environmental, and waste management
Completion of field documentation promptly, such as job safety analysis (JSA) forms, project field reports, field notes, soil, concrete, and asphalt datasheets, monitoring, and chain-of-custody forms
Reviewing and understanding of project plans and specifications, shop drawings, product data, RFIs, and change orders
Performing of scheduled tests, observations, and inspections by applicable test procedures and project requirements
Collection of data through research and file review
Performing computations and processing data using computer software or other established methods
Performing field testing to gather data for engineering, hydrogeologic, and scientific evaluations
Operation of various types of field equipment (e.g., GPS, data loggers, water level meters, survey level, combustible gas meters, nuclear density gauge, drones, etc.)
Observing and documenting field activities and preparing construction documentation reports
Operating and maintaining company vehicles
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Associates Degree preferred
0-2 years of experience with collecting soil, groundwater, concrete, or sediment samples
Capable of working Primarily in an outdoor work environment and occasional office environment
Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally with or without accommodation, sometimes over substantial distances
Must have a personal vehicle to travel to work sites
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Must be able to travel for extended periods, on occasions
