Procter & Gambles Corporate Function organization is seeking a highly motivated PhD intern to join our team in the Electron Microscopy laboratory based in Mason, Ohio. This internship opportunity offers an outstanding chance to contribute to the development of methods for characterizing polymers in liquid formulations and proven materials using innovative imaging and analytical instrumentation.

Responsibilities will include the ability to:

Collaborate with a team of expert researchers and scientists to develop and optimize microscopy and imaging techniques for the analysis of polymers in liquid formulations and proven materials.

Conduct sample preparation, including ultramicrotomy and other relevant techniques, to ensure high-quality samples for characterization.

Apply electron microscopy (TEM, SEM) and/or light microscopy to examine the structure and morphology of polymers in different formulations.

Apply image processing and analysis methods to extract relevant information from microscopy data.

Contribute to the development and improvement of analytical methods and protocols for polymer characterization.

Document and communicate research findings effectively through presentations and reports.

Job Qualifications

Currently pursuing a PhD in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Structural Biology).

Strong background in polymer science and characterization techniques.

Basic knowledge of microscopy, sample preparation, and imaging methods.

Experience with electron microscopy (TEM, SEM) and/or light microscopy is highly desirable.

Proficiency in image processing and analysis techniques is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Effective communication and presentation skills.
