Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist with Corewell Health, you can help patients breathe more easily and live life more comfortably. Youll collaborate with a highly skilled clinical team to help diagnose, monitor, and treat conditions that affect the lungs and breathing in people of all ages.

Essential Functions

Performs evaluation to determine respiratory care needs, and makes appropriate recommendations and changes in accordance with policy and protocol guidelines. Assesses effectiveness of treatment and accurately documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards. Performs point of care testing as required.

Performs advanced evaluation, management and therapeutic procedures (interventions) for patients requiring respiratory assistance. Assesses effectiveness of intervention and accurately documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards.

Completes and documents required education and competencies within designated timeframe. Maintains competency in areas of accountability.

Accurate and timely completion of all necessary documentation and billing.

Facilitates a smooth transition for the patient to appropriate referral services / the next point of service / home and provides education to patients and families as it relates to respiratory issues.

Instructs and trains other respiratory care staff, nursing and other medical personnel and students regarding patient needs and respiratory care services.

Qualifications

Required Associates Degree Respiratory Therapy

Preferred Bachelors Degree Respiratory Therapy

2 years of relevant experience pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine or equivalent clinical educationRequired

LIC-Respiratory Therapist – STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required

CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry – NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care Upon Hire required

CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA American Heart Association Regional Hospitals and NICU 90 Days required

CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA American Heart Association Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab 90 Days required

CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required

RT Students, CRTs, and RRTs may apply

This is an every Thursday Night RT Position

No Weekends

This position entails Every 3rd Holiday
