Overview:
Tjader and Highstrom Utility Services, LLC (d/b/a Molls Utility Services) is looking for reliable, hard-working, driven individuals to work on a great team. We are looking for a Journeyman Lineman to work with our distribution voltage projects located in Wisconsin and Iowa. Our primary customer base is rural electric cooperatives and municipal utilities.
Responsibilities:
Perform electrical line work involved in the maintenance, construction, and extension of overhead and underground electrical power systems
Ability to climb poles
Frame, erect and remove poles
Install, remove and repair cross arms, transformers, transformer racks, switches, voltage regulators, oil circuit-reclosures, capacitors, meters and other electrical apparatus
String conductor for electrical distribution systems
Tree trimming as needed
Operate sectionalizing and isolating equipment within substations
Repair overhead and underground line facilities
Responsible for following all safety policies and procedures at all times and properly using safety equipment
Must be willing to work overtime as needed
Must be willing to work storm outages and emergencies as called upon
Evaluate Apprentice progress and abilities
Perform other work related activities as requested
Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of all aspects of electrical construction, including construction and maintenance of high voltage lines and the tools and materials commonly used in overhead and underground work
Must be proficient in pole top and bucket rescue
Thorough knowledge of necessary safety precautions used in working on high voltage overhead and underground electrical circuits
Thorough knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and accepted safety practices relating to electrical utility work
Ability to organize, supervise and train others
Ability to keep time and material records
Ability to give, follow and understand oral and written instructions
Ability to communicate and work effectively with others
Must be CPR and First Aid certified or possess the ability to obtain such certification within three months of employment
Must have and maintain a valid Class “A” Driver’s License with an air brake endorsement and meet all D.O.T. requirements
Must be able to pass required D.O.T physical examinations and drug testing
Drive company vehicles safely and obey all traffic laws
Must become familiar with all company policies and procedures
