THE ROLE: The IT Asset Specialist is to help maintain the technology solutions used to manage company hardware and software assets. This includes planning, monitoring, and recording software licenses and/or hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts and license agreements. The individual will help implement and maintain procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles while managing the 12 Key Process Areas for ITAM.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain the global IT asset inventory
Execute and maintain processes and procedures for tracking and analyzing technical and financial data of company software, hardware, and equipment from requisition through retirement
Increase accountability of hardware and software ownership to ensure compliance across the company
Identify opportunities to enhance the overall lifecycle management processes for IT assets
Perform audit & compliance risk reduction efforts through standardization, documentation, and loss detection
Track and maintain copies of software licenses, warranties, maintenance agreements, and vendor contracts
Ensure tracking and updates of all software and hardware serial numbers or identification tags into a configuration management system (CMS), and ensure information is up-to-date, accurate, and auditable
Ensure that inventory and usage monitoring of all IT assets records all findings, and changes of physical location
Generate, distribute, and review relevant management reports
Maintain integrity of CMDB to include verification, data management and allocation
Investigate and resolve exceptions and accuracy issues of the CMDB repository
Collaborate with business and organizational units as needed in support of IT Asset Management functions:
End Users (educating on compliance)
Budget Managers (redeployment as a choice)
IT Service Departments (providing information on warranties)
Finance (invoice reconciliation, updates for fixed asset inventories)

Conduct and report software asset reconciliation and audit activities on a timely basis, including financial, licensing, warranty, and maintenance/support contract information

Project management QUALIFICATIONS: Required Qualifications:Minimal education & experience, essential skills & abilities and required license/certification to perform this job. Formal Education & Certification
University degree or college diploma in the field of Management or similar discipline Knowledge & Experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience in IT asset management, procurement, or related function.
Working knowledge of software licensing agreements, enterprise agreements, or corporate licensing programs, for software vendors, such as Microsoft, Adobe, or Autodesk.
Strong familiarity and technical knowledge of asset management software and/or inventory-tracking systems, such as SNOW, ServiceNow or similar tool.
Solid working knowledge of current IT technologies, including Microsoft Azure, ServiceNow, PC and/or Server Operating Systems, etc.
General knowledge of accounting, finance, marketing, and logistics terms and concepts
Strong data analysis skills and experience working in data management tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerBi, or similar tool.Preferred Qualifications: Additional preferences for a specific position. Formal Education & Certification
Certified Software Management Professional and/or Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional through IBSMA, SIIA, IAITAM, or BSA Personal Attributes
Ability to work with vendors, suppliers, and contractors who provide a broad spectrum of products and services

Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

DAY IN THE LIFE : In this role, you will work primarily in an office setting and the physical demands may include but not limited to light lifting up to 50 lbs. In locations with a factory or shop floor, exposure to factory/shop environments and machinery. In addition, this role will require travel up to 10%.

Job postings will include a wide salary range, with each roles pay falling within that range. The starting salary is based on factors such as skills, experience, location, and market conditions.
Salary range:
$62,000.00 – $99,000.00
