What You Will Do
The Student Programs Office (SPO) within the Partnership & Pipeline organization (PPO) is seeking a Post-Bachelors intern to help SPO support the Laboratorys employees, managers, and senior leaders in attracting, developing, and retaining a workforce that delivers solutions to some of the most pressing issues facing our nation and the world. SPO is seeking a motivated post-bachelors intern who will provide close support in planning and organizing our dynamic summer school for high school and undergraduate students (50%), as well as supporting the Service Academies and ROTC Research Academy (SARRA) program (50%). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone interested in education, event planning, program management, or program evaluation, and who is looking to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will play a key role in organizing and executing successful and engaging summer programs. You will work closely with our staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and provide an excellent experience for all participants.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Communication
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with a diverse technical, professional population, and community stakeholders.
Organization
Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects. Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving independently and working on a team.
Developing Solutions
Working knowledge of conducting research, evaluating alternatives, and developing solutions affecting business, operational, and/or programmatic oversight.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in using office productivity software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Google Suite etc.
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience working in a customer service environment.
• Experience in event planning.
• Program evaluation / survey experience.
Education and Experience:
Must have earned a Bachelors degree within the last 3 years in Social Sciences, Business Administration or a related field, with a GPA of 2.75 or above.
Work Location: The work location for this position is hybrid and is located in Los Alamos, NM. Hybrid is defined as working partially onsite/partially offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.

No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
