The Epidemiology and Drug Safety practice at IQVIA is a fast-growing component of the Regulatory Science and Study Innovation (RSSI) division. With direct access to the world’s most comprehensive data, analytic and consulting/research resources, the team specializes in helping clients to address scientific questions including: disease burden, natural history, product safety and risk management, drug utilization, treatment patterns, and validation studies. Our clients include pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device manufacturers. Overview of the Role
Senior Consultants develop, design, and deliver high quality epidemiology and drug safety projects and research studies. Senior Consultants work with Principals, Associate Principals, and Consultants on each project and will work across multiple projects. Assignments range in complexity from performing literature reviews to developing study protocols, statistical analysis plans, study delivery and ensuring data quality and scientific rigor across all facets of epidemiology projects. Contributions to the development of best practices in epidemiology and observational research; participation as co-author in manuscripts; and mentoring more junior team members are encouraged. Occasional travel may be required. The Senior Consultant has explicit recognition as a senior team member and responsibility for on-time and on-budget delivery of projects or components of projects. The Senior Consultant will play a role in business development and will have responsibility for mentoring more junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for on-time and on-budget delivery of projects or components of projects
Support business development activities.
Mentor junior staff.
Design and implement epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, and drug safety studies and other related research projects.
Contribute to the development of high quality proposals for new projects.
Contribute to the development of project deliverables, including literature reviews, protocols, statistical analysis plans, reviews of results, study reports, abstracts, manuscripts and slide decks, as appropriate.
Support senior staff on specific research initiatives as needed.
Contribute to the development of best practices in epidemiology and observational research and other internal initiatives to share information and build capacity.
Qualifications
Master’s or doctoral degree in epidemiology, health services research, or relevant related discipline; Advanced knowledge of epidemiology methods and concepts.
4 years of professional experience in applied health research or consulting environment; experience in pharmacoepidemiology, epidemiology, or health services research.
Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment on multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
Strong project management skills, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize competing tasks.
Self-starter, ability to work individually in addition to collaboratively.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $151,200.00 – $252,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
