Job Posting Summary

Junior Programs Facilitator assists the Assistant Director with administrative duties related to grants and the Center for STEM Education programs, such as time reporting documents, travel arrangements for conferences, and gathering support receipts for credit card statements. The Facilitator will also help with K-12 Saturday STEM Academy as follows: transcribing interviews with students, gathering bios and pictures for new Academy instructors and updating the web page accordingly, uploading pictures from Academy sessions and coordinating with social media person to post; and general upkeep of grant web pages with new activities of Wipro and Master Teacher Fellows. Some Saturday hours may be requested.

General office duties include putting together science materials for STEM outreach; copying for Professional Development sessions. Computer skills necessary and any computer graphic skills would be welcome.

Qualifications

Excellent communication skills and accuracy in reporting is a must.

Perform other duties and office work as needed.

Must have experience with or comfort level learning to facilitate/host/post or provide basic user support for Zoom meetings, Microsoft Teams, Blackboard, and other virtual communication platforms and social media, i.e., Instagram.

Must have experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

The Mercy University Retirement Plan is comprised of two components:

Deferred Compensation Plan

All eligible employees may contribute to the Deferred Compensation Plan on a pre-tax basis upon joining the University.

Defined Contribution Plan

Eligible employees are enrolled in the Defined Contribution Plan after two (2) years of full-time employment at Mercy University and receive a semi-monthly contribution from the College, based on age and salary. If an employee is under age 36, they will receive a contribution of 3.3% of their annual salary each pay period. If an employee is age 36 or older, they will receive a contribution of 9% of their annual salary each pay period.

If employed full-time for two (2) or more consecutive years by another institution(s) of higher education (college or university), without an intervening break in service within the last twelve (12) months prior to employment before joining Mercy, please submit a waiting period waiver form to Office of Human Resources. The Defined Contribution will begin as of the first day of the month following receipt of the completed waiver form.
