The Department of Behavioral and Community Health Sciences BCHS at the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health http://www.bchs.pitt.edu/ invites applications for a full-time Appointment Stream Research Associate Professor position.
BCHS works to improve and promote health and equity by engaging individuals, communities, and systems through our research, teaching, and practice. The Department is firmly committed to practice-oriented research, evidence-based interventions, dissemination of findings, and social justice. Our faculty seeks to improve health disparities by centering the community and preparing leaders in the public health workforce. The successful applicant must be able to explore and advance public health domestically and/or internationally using a health equity lens and should have expertise in Biostatistics. Research foci of interest to the department include but are not limited to those seeking to improve health outcomes for systematically marginalized populations, particularly those who experience racial and ethnic disparities, people who use illicit substances, and/or sexual and gender minorities.
Applicants should hold a doctorate in public health, psychology, or a related social science discipline and be interested in building partnerships across disciplines within the University. Applicants should also have a demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary research and demonstrate an independent ability to design and execute experiments and data collection, analyze & interpret results, and present research findings professionally and scientifically. Salary will be commensurate with background/experience.
