Quality Engineer
Penn United Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to provide exceptional supplier quality assurance services. This person will work closely with our many suppliers to ensure quality materials are being supplied in order to meet our high customer standards.  Penn United is a leader in our industry, providing the highest quality precision manufactured solutions for a variety of products and industries for over 53 years.

Quality Engineer Responsibilities:
Engage with suppliers to ensure quality materials that meet specifications are being sent
Audit the manufacturing processes of our suppliers and report audit discrepancies to the Quality and Purchasing Managers
Perform supplier quality activities including working with suppliers to assist them in developing improvement plans as needed
Assist with cause and corrective action investigations
Work with suppliers to resolve any quality issues as they arise
Perform incoming inspection as required
Review and approve Quality documentation related duties for APQP:
– FMEA, DOE, PPAP, FAIR, MSA, SPC
– Control Plans
Assist, perform or direct First Articles, and final audit inspections, Gage R&R and Capability Studies
Willingness and ability to travel (approximately 20%)

Qualifications

Quality Engineer Qualifications:
Required: Journey-worker papers in Quality Assurance or equivalent experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Bachelors degree in related field
Internal Auditing certification
Excellent knowledge of foundational quality skills including blueprint reading, GD&T and auditing processes
Excellent knowledge of ISO systems, measuring and inspection equipment
Excellent math, mechanical, statistical, analytical and technical reading and writing skills
Ability to comprehend written procedures
High degree of computer literacy including position related software and Microsoft Office Suite
High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and deadlines, good comprehension and problem-solving skills
Strong ability to professionally communicate using both verbal and written skills
Ability to keep up to date with new quality, technical and business developments
Must possess a valid drivers license and ability and willingness to travel (approximately 20%)
