DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Arconic is currently in search of Production Supervisor to join our Kawneer – Building and Construction Systems business in Cranberry Township, PA.
Responsibilities
The Production Supervisor position is the first level of authority for the departments they oversee – providing leadership, coaching and clear direction to ensure people are working safely, meeting customer demand, quality, solving problems, eliminating waste, and meeting goals. This position is primarily a daylight position under the direction of the Building Operations Manager. The role will have employees on weekend and night shifts they are responsible for, there is support, but hours will need to be flexible at times to address certain issues and department demands.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead by example, specifically with regard to the Arconic Values, EHS and HR policies
Ensure all parts available in the Packing Department are packed and delivered to the Shipping department in time for scheduled shipments
Back up the Shipping Supervisor and others as needed
Ensure the safety and health of the employees
Engage employees in department initiatives
Support implementation of policies and procedures and recommend improvements in working conditions
Complete employees performance reviews and disciplinary action when appropriate
Responsible for problem analysis and resolution showing improved process optimization
Guarantee and follow-up on investigations of scraps with the quality department
Responsible to guarantee the integrity of the system transactions on JDE
Implement, maintain and improve processes that will prevent EHS incidents
Communicate and follow up with area managers on daily/weekly/monthly requirements
Communicate with other production and support departments (Quality, Engineering, PC, HR, etc.);
Other duties as needed to meet business objectives
Key Objectives
Supervise to support achievement of all departmental goals in alignment with the plant business case (e.g. IFE, TRR, DART, Human Performance, OTIF, WCR, Operational Productivity, Labor efficiency, OEE, Inventory, Budget, Quality, etc.)
Support lean manufacturing actions established for the department with the Building Operations Manager
Review production schedules, staffing requirements and make decisions in order to guarantee the productivity of the area during the shift
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
3 years manufacturing experience
1 year supervisory experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution
Supervisory experiences in a manufacturing environment
Bilingual – English and Spanish
