Caregiver – Mercer Area

Responsibilities:

Provide non-medical, in-home care and personal care to clients. This can include, but is not limited to the following duties:

1. Meal preparation — cooking nutritionally balanced meals based on the clients individual requirements.

2. Light housekeeping — cleaning floors, vacuuming carpets, surface cleaning of kitchens, bathrooms and furniture, linen change.

3. Laundry — washing, drying, ironing, folding.

4. Companionship care — visiting, talking, reading, walks, activities, etc.

5. Errand services — grocery shopping, dry-cleaning, etc.

6. Transportation to appointments — doctor, hair salon, etc.

7. Personal care — assist with personal hygiene, bathing, incontinence care, toileting.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates for this position must:

1. Be compassionate, honest, caring and reliable.

2. Have a valid drivers license with a good driving record. Must have reliable transportation.

3. Be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.

4. Experience as a nursing assistant in home care or in a healthcare facility is preferred.

5. Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program is not required but is helpful.

6. Be able to pass the following: Pre-employment drug screen, random drug screens, PPD testing prior to employment.

7. Be able to physically assist with client transfers.
