Gas System Planning Engineer
Remote Within Service Territory
10-20% Travel

What youll be working on…
Develops project proposals and assist with contractor proposal review and selection.
Possesses and applies strong knowledge of the natural gas design codes.
Works with project team including, Project Management, Construction and Operations while
monitoring the engineering design progress.
Applies strong knowledge of project permitting requirements for Federal, State, and local
permits.
Leads engineering meetings with internal stakeholders.
Produces, reviews and approves construction drawing packages.
Oversees multiple projects of high complexity concurrently.
Develops Engineering scoping documents.
Leads engineering meetings with external stakeholders.
Reviews other engineering designs as needed for accuracy.
Assists with the development of department training materials.
Assists with department process enhancements
Who you are…
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in engineering or engineering technology; minimum of 3 years industry experience and/or training as evaluated by management. Valid Drivers License
Proficient knowledge of natural gas pipeline operations and compliance requirements
Ability to communicate technical requirements or concepts effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to understand and apply technical specifications, federal/state/local regulatory codes, and accepted industry construction or operations practices
Familiarity with concepts and terminology related to the construction and maintenance of natural gas transmission facilities
Proficient with computer software including Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft Projects, Synergi Gas Modeling Software, GasCalc, RSTRENG, and AutoCAD
Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering plans and specifications, technical procedures and manuals, and government regulations.
Develop thorough knowledge of ESNG pipeline system operations.
CFR 49 Part 192 and other industry regulations
Understand DOT, railroad and other permitting requirements
Solid understanding of Engineering Principles as well as construction,
maintenance and operations.
Skills Proficient in general business principles including Microsoft Office Suite.
Abilities Ability to review engineering plans and understand permit requirements.
Ability to train and mentor Engineer I and Engineer II.
