Electromechanical Support Specialist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
– Manages installations of equipment and infrastructure of new projects. Both mechanical and electrical.
– Performs hands-on support as necessary during assembly, commissioning, or repairs to machinery.
– Provides maintenance team with regular feedback and coaching to improve performance. Leads the team in breakdowns and directs resources as needed.
– Works hand in hand with the Project Manager to provide direct supervision and leadership on the floor during projects.
– Specs out systems and infrastructure needed for upgrades and projects.
– Helps coordinate and prioritizes the list of jobs to be done and projects to be completed.
– Partners with line managers and other department managers to resolve any problems or emergency issues that arise including weekends, holidays, and any off hours to help ensure the factory achieves its budgeted numbers.
– Partners with the Maintenance and Infrastructure managers in activities relating to infrastructure and operations. Ensures PM program and activities are correct.
– Actively participates in technical meetings.
– Responsible for central communication between Project team / Maintenance Department / OEM / Contractors in relation to assigned Projects and emergency breakdowns, including direction of visits and logistics of those visits.
– Develops new processes and PM programs in relation to all plant equipment.
– Assists Parts Dept in sourcing and specification of MRP stocked parts and new additions.
– Responsible for sourcing parts in relation to obsolescence and upgrades that are required to keep plant equipment at its optimum capacity.
– Ensures designs produced by either external or internal engineers fit our needs and equipment. This can be print lift offs or technical manual reviews.
– Responsible for the upkeep and training in relation to Arc Flash codes.
– Designs new circuits and systems for use in the factory when OEM resources are not available or insufficient to what the task requires.
– Responsible to ensure our equipment and processes meet OSHA standards for safety.
– Responsible to perform other duties and activities as directed.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
– A 2-year Technical degree or closely related degree, or 7 years experience in industrial electrical.
– Full understanding of PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.) programmable logical control from power supplies to the hardware: input, output, analog and digital modules.
– The ability to connect to a PLC for the purpose of troubleshooting.
– The ability to connect to a Drive, either AC or DC, and read the faults, reset as needed, and /or set new parameters.
– Understanding of CANbus, Ethernet, and Profinet communications.
– Ability to work with external support on other types of systems.
– The ability to construct mechanical assemblies or remove and install components
– Full competency in operating forklift, scissor lift, aerial lift, or other industrial vehicles.
– Excellent computer skills in such programs as Microsoft office and outlook.
– Strong communication skills (email, phone, face-to-face)
– Strong organizational skills (task lists, critical contacts, project schedules, etc.)
– Have knowledge in technical drawings and the ability to interpret said drawings.
– Must be willing to travel on occasion.
– Must be available for emergencies.
