A Day in the Life:
The Area Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful operation of their assigned grouping of Hertz Local Edition branches

What You’ll Do:
The objective of the Area Manager role is to increase market share, control fleet, meet and exceed its profitability targets, reach customer service goals, and develop staff. Responsible for customer and employee relations for Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty brands.
1. Achievement of Operational goals, revenue goals and financial objectives as stated in annual Business Planning Ensure unparalleled customer satisfaction
2. Develop and implement local sales and marketing initiatives
3. Training and development of all location employees
4. Ensure efficient utilization and effective control of vehicle inventory. Inspire staff members to reach for high goals, encourage open discussion of ideas for improving theArea’s performance and challenge staff members to develop to their potential.
5. Create an Ownership Culture with a Focus on Sales and Customer Service.
6. Challenge, Encourage and Develop Employees
7. Maintain Effective Employee Staffing
8. Achieve Fleet Utilization and Out of Service Goals
9. Manage Required Administrative Tasks, Controls and Reports.
10. Remain current on all administrative duties according to company policy.
11. Give specific performance feedback to each employee on an semi annual and annual basis.
12. Complete sales calls with Branch staff to develop employees, increase market penetration and increase revenue
13. Ensure all corporate policies and procedures are administered and followed appropriately by all personnel
14. Role model leadership skills.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Minimum of five (5) years of management experience in a customer-focused environment preferred
Previous car rental industry experience preferred.
Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions and locations
Ability to influence
Strong customer service orientation with ability to interact effectively at multiple levels in support of customer relationships
Commitment to continuous improvement
Some knowledge of employment and labor laws
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Proven sales ability
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong relationship building skills
Develop and lead high performing team
