Manages, selects, and develops inter-disciplinary engineering teams that prepare and maintain the production documentation in compliance with Design Requirements, Quality Manual and Regulatory Authorities. Selects, cultivates, trains, and supervises engineering leads/ supervisor and key staff. Oversees and approves key aircraft manufacturing engineering projects, processes, and performance reports to optimize the manufacturing engineering department output. Review program management proposals/changes and develop plans to meet requirements for delivery w.r.t manufacturing engineering constraints and design data availability. Plans and formulates aspects of manufacturing engineering proposals such as objective or purpose of project, applications that can be utilized from findings, costs of project, and equipment and human resource requirements. Manage development of manufacturing engineering procedures, departmental policies and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Evaluate Cost vs. Benefit analysis of manufacturing engineering project proposals and provide direction/ vision for short-term long-terms goals. Approve and submit proposals considered feasible to senior management. Drive development of methods/ controls to ensure cost effectiveness of manufacturing solutions for manufacturability, product quality, ground/flight test requirements, and system compatibility. Design and develop tools to efficiently report manufacturing engineering project/department status. Enable integration with the Manufacturing, Operations and Quality Manager, review and monitor quality and process improvements and new product line introductions. Develop and manage the annual capital investment plan for operation purposes. Disposition non-conformities in the production process and represent Manufacturing Engineering in the MRB (Material Review Board). Recommend and develop design improvements. Direct the review of manufacturing engineering internal costs, aircraft production cost and product documentation quality. Enforce modification of production documentation, procedures, standard practices, and manufacturing engineering training to maintain and enhance safety, compliance, and profitable operation of the department. Recommends budgets to management; including staff utilization, technology, facility and equipment requirements or improvements Co-ordinate internal and external customer inputs to prepare and optimize flows, sequences and layouts pertaining to the aircraft production cycle. Guarantee technical support to all departments and suppliers. Integrate schedule, cost and resource availability factors, applying Lean Manufacturing practices assuring continuous Improvement.
Provide direct support to Quality Assurance staff during Regulatory Authority audits. Define layout of training and job requirements for manufacturing engineering and coordinate approval of the allocated manufacturing engineering training budget. Guide leadership grooming (technical / management tracks) within the manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support audits from airworthiness authorities (EASA, FAA, etc.)
Requirement/Risk identification for new designs/technical changes based on timing, cost and resource availability factors.
Definition of flows, sequences and layouts of production lines. Requirement identification of activities related to optimization of production cycle.
Ensure As Planned configuration completeness and accuracy
Define & Coordinate First Article Inspection plans.
Preparation of internal Plant rules/procedures, technical support and development of companywide technological innovations.

Bachelor Degree in Engineering Required, preferred fields Aerospace/Electrical/Mechanical/Manufacturing /Industrial
Masters/PhD Preferred
Qualifications for Position:
Experience
Minimum Nine (9) years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in aerospace that would permit performance of essential duties and responsibilities.
