Marketing and Communications Manager

The Marketing and Communications Manager will assist in managing Magnolia Plantation and Gardens brand strategy and content distribution while executing key communication objectives. This role also serves as the organization’s primary media relations expert, creating and delivering content that raises awareness of Magnolia’s programs, events, and activities to both visitors and the broader community.

What you will be doing:
Develop and manage Magnolia’s messaging campaigns across digital and print channels, ensuring consistency with brand voice and mission. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align content with organizational goals.
Create, publish, and maintain internal and external newsletters, press releases, and blog posts. Respond to media inquiries and visitor questions.
Bring Magnolia’s online presence to life through engaging and visual media: Manage a dynamic social media content calendar, track trends, and create content that boosts brand visibility and drives visitation. Utilize Hootsuite to optimize content distribution.
Manage blog posts, podcasts, and SMS campaigns via Mailchimp.
Develop and execute membership and radio group marketing campaigns.
Maintain a media contact list and bios for the leadership team. Research and apply for industry and leadership team awards.
Update and maintain the media kit for outreach purposes.
Edit and maintain Magnolia’s website, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
Work closely with Magnolia’s Marketing Consultants to co-develop strategic marketing plans that align with company goals, leveraging internal data for impactful initiatives.
Collaborate with Guest Operations and Sales teams to create copy for internal communications and software platforms.
Represent Magnolia at networking events.
Exemplifies a team-player spirit when assigned other duties as required.
Requirements
Who you are:
Passionate about storytelling and creating lasting, positive impressions through creative content. You’re enthusiastic, energetic, and a highly creative problem-solver.
You bring 3-5 years of experience in marketing, ideally with 3 years in hospitality or event marketing.
You’re skilled in developing, posting, and managing content across social media platforms for a well-established brand.
You excel at prioritizing tasks, focusing on what truly matters, and executing plans efficiently.
You understand the importance of online engagement and respond quickly to comments, questions, or feedback to foster community involvement.
