Job Description
Summary:
The ARD Scientist I will be responsible for conducting laboratory work to assure that products are tested per operating procedures. It is their duty to ensure that work is carried out in an efficient and safe manner. The successful candidate will have outstanding judgment and make adaptations and modifications as the need arises. This role involves performing routine analyses in an analytical chemistry laboratory, following standard practices. The Analyst will also perform method development and qualification activities. In addition, they will support internal development and/or manufacturing operations by making detailed observations, reviewing, documenting, and presenting test results.
Key Responsibilities:
Consistently align with housekeeping standards to maintain a clean and safe work environment, including the work area, instrumentation, and testing materials is vital.
Assemble and operate laboratory (bench scale) equipment under the mentorship of a scientist and carry out experiments accordingly.
Use a range of analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, GC/MS, LC/MS, and traditional wet chemical testing to conduct developmental and validated test methods.
Craft accurate and comprehensive documentation of the testing/analysis and acquired results, recording and reporting them in accordance with prescribed lab procedures and systems.
Provide vital information for the writing of Analytical Methods, validation protocols, validation reports, and SOPs if required.
Troubleshoot and tackle problems related to the processing of chemical procedures to ensure smooth operations.
Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) to optimally carry out job responsibilities.
Demonstrate effective written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Be able to work on projects simultaneously, effectively managing time and priorities.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a science field is required.
0 -2 years of experience working in a laboratory is helpful, including familiarity with analytical instrumentation, including HPLC and GC.
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and meaningful work experience will be considered.

The ideal candidate will possess the following proficiencies:
Good knowledge and understanding of chemistry and analytical instrumental technologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and a logical approach to solving scientific problems.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
Proficiency in applying mathematical operations, such as generating calibration curves and assay determinations.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the following physical abilities:
Ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about office locations.
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch periodically.
Manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of 10-35 pounds.
Visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for extended periods of time.
Use of safety glasses, lab coat, and nitrile gloves.
