Job Title: AP Specialist
Job Description
Input Vendor invoices and credit notes onto the finance system in a timely manner ensuring that there are no backlogs
Maintain a constant focus on cost and continuously seek ways to reduce spend and maximize cost efficiency
Resolve queries with invoices in a timely manner.
Liaise with relevant departments to ensure deliveries are recorded accurately and in a timely manner
Ensure that all the filing is kept up to date and in order.
Reconcile supplier statements with invoices for accuracy & completeness on a monthly basis.
Prepare a Payment run for the CFO to authorize and process.
Review and implement improvements to current filing system
Weekly and monthly financial reporting to include:
Prepare the Aged Creditors Control Account reconciliation as part of the month end process.
Assist the Group Financial Accountant in the Month End process for Accounts Payable.
Ensure the above is in line with the Group Finance Departments Month End Timetable.
Ensure that the financial components of the company’s transactions, relationships and interaction with third parties are accurate, timely and add to the company’s efficiency and reputation
Manage the Company Credit Card Statements, processing the transactions in to the finance system and collating the receipts.
Manage Consignment reporting and provide the data to the Accounting Supervisor
Hard Skills
Completion of a high school diploma and degree.
Understanding of relevant accounting practices, procedures and regulatory requirements desirable
Previous experience in a similar role highly desirable
Tools and Technology Experience:
While you won’t need to be a full on techie, knowledge of Microsoft products is required, plus the ability to calculate figures such as discounts.
QuickBooks knowledge desirable
