The role you’ll contribute:

The Medical Office Representative is responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, reviewing new patient registration, entering patient information into the practice’s designated system, & requesting and collecting co-pays/outstanding balances at the time of check-in/check-out. This individual is responsible for taking accurate messages and routing correspondence efficiently. Serves as a liaison between patients and medical support staff. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility for maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Welcomes patients appropriately, accurately updates, verifies, and enters patient information (including insurance, billing, and demographics) and processes/scans all forms into appropriate systems.

Maintains an effective operational flow by communicating patients’ status to appropriate team members and keeping patient apprised.

Communicates in a cordial, professional manner with patients via phone and in person to meet the patient’s needs as soon as possible.

Provides education as necessary to patientregarding test locations, patient portal use, and follow-up (non-clinical) actions.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications :

High school diploma or equivalent

Ability to operate a computer, copier, fax, and scanner

Ability to request and collect co-pays and outstanding balances

Ability to deal with data that is of a sensitive and confidential nature (HIPAA)
