About the Position: You will serve as Chief of a Weapon System Branch in a Product Support Integration Directorate (PSID) with supervisory and management responsibilities for assigned personnel. Responsibilities Supervise the activities of multifunctional teams which may include Equipment Specialists, Inventory Management Specialists, Supply Management Specialists, Technical Writers, Logistics Management Specialists and other specialists. Coordinate logistics mission accomplishment within the community, higher headquarters, and other relevant organizations. Analyze problems and identify new solutions. Participate in the development of program requirements for assigned systems. Develop and implement a comprehensive product support strategy for the weapon system. Evaluate the effectiveness of assigned programs/weapon systems and materiel, assuring timely support of field and higher echelon customers. Utilize sound judgment in decision making process in difficult, negative, or unexpected situations. Assign work to subordinates, provide technical oversight, develop performance plans/rates employees, interview candidates/recommend hiring/promotion, and take disciplinary measures. Identify developmental and training needs of employees and provide/arrange for development/training. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: In order to qualify for this position your resume must describe one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 or equivalent) grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Managing a weapons system and interfacing with multiple policies; 2) Briefing leadership or key officials on program status; AND 3) Providing guidance, training and/or work review for employees. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02 or GS-11 equivalent. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
