The VEV Team is looking for a detail oriented, motivated, self-starter to join our team. The Instrumentation Quality and Lab Analyst will be responsible for the management of lab operations within a dynamic environment, oversight of fixed asset equipment and non VEV data acquisition equipment, updating and maintaining Access databases.

In this position…

The analyst will interact with multiple suppliers when investigating instrumentation related quality issues to conclusion, leading new product trials, supporting GPIRS and non GPIRS build events from program approval to delivery of units. Additionally, position is responsible for managing high voltage secure work area and transient HV supplier teams following corporate standards, oversight of approved personnel working in secure areas.

This is an onsite position in Allen Park, MI.

What youll do…

Supervise daily operations of instrumentation lab, High Voltage lab

Manage $25K PO with Campbell Scientific (specialty parts orders, calibration services)

Participate and manage instrumentation interviews for fuel economy testing and road data acquisition

Support APTL in cell and in vehicle AVL Fuel Flow Testing equipment

Write and train personnel in Campbell, Fluke and HBM programs, work with end users to install/prove out software

Investigate and make recommendations for High Voltage Lab following Ford safety protocols

Investigate new thermal measurement technologies

Maintain and modify MS Access calibration databases

Participate with AI crib GPIRS cycle counts of fixed asset inventory

Write and test Excel Macros

Train, maintain and run department owned Schleuniger wire printers

Write and test Excel Macros supporting wire production runs

Write and maintain database backup scripts

Offsite data acquisition support at WT, APTL as well as DDC to support test timing

In-cell hardware issues resolution

Instrumentation PC software and hardware issue resolution

Support NMPDC, EVB, Roush 9, APG, FOA and FoE instrumentation main contacts to ensure issue resolution and delivery completion dates

Participate in weekly floor quality reviews

Participate and manage instrumentation interviews for fuel economy testing and road data acquisition

Create and maintain lab processes, installation guidelines and quality control documentation

Operate within Prototype Test Plan and execution at all stages of programs to meet program deliverables

Active involvement with resolving prototype cost reduction and material issues at DDC, APWS and NMPDC

Youll have…

High School graduate or GED or a combination of education and equivalent work experience

10 years of prototype product development experience

10 years of vehicle instrumentation experience including but not limited to CAN bus, thermocouples, pressure transducers, single axis and tri-axis accelerometers

15 years of Campbell Scientific, Fluke, HBM programming

Even better, you may have…

Bachelors Degree

Advanced knowledge of vehicle development, testing and high voltage safety protocols, Level 2B ‘testing’ certification

Advanced experience with data processing and analysis

Advanced experience working with Microsoft Office applications with a focus on Access

Working knowledge and understanding of VO prototype build process (GPDS 3.4) as applied to instrumentation process at NMPDC/Roush 9

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Strong project management skillset

Ability to adjust to changing requirements at a challenging, active supplier worksite environment under heavy workload

Experience working with represented employee classes in a teaching capacity

Willingness to support 2 nd shift instrumentation activities when required

This position is a range of salary grades 6-7 .
