Job Summary: Assist teachers, parents, students, and principal with varied tasks. Answer phones and perform daily activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

– Assists teachers, parents, students, and principals.
– Answers phones.
– Records daily student attendance.
– Works collaboratively with Principals secretary.
– Performs other duties as assigned.
– Regular and consistent attendance.
– Must have knowledge of and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the Portage Public Schools Employee Handbook.

 

Qualifications:

– High School diploma
– One-year previous office experience
– Highly skilled in organization, interpersonal communications and customer service
– Ability to be flexible, manage time wisely, and complete job responsibilities with minimal instruction
– Demonstrate proficiency and ability to operate a computer and related software (i.e. Microsoft Office, Google Apps)
– Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
– Ability to interpret instructions given in written or oral form
– Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
– Ability to define problems, collect, organize, and report data
– Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board policies
– Ability to perform complex program and operational support duties
– Ability to speak and work effectively and positively with students, staff, and parents

                                               
Preferred Qualifications

– 1-3 years office experience
– Associate Degree
