Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Technical Services Coordinator, configure, maintain, upgrade and troubleshoot infrastructure and related network systems following best practices.
Responsibilities:
Maintain the following infrastructure and related network systems:
– IPv4 & IPv6 dual stack networking principles
– OSPF & BGP routing protocols
– RADIUS & 802.11x Wireless/Wired Authentication
– DHCP & DHCP custom options
– Dell Network Switches
– Ubiquiti Networks Switches
– Rukus Wireless
– 3CX Telephone System
– Firewall & Web Filtering Systems
– IP Video Surveillance Systems & Related Equipment
– Network Monitoring Systems (Zabbix, LibreNMS)
– Maintain highly detailed network diagrams & documentation
– Utilize change management procedures
– Ability to take full ownership of all networking systems and services, and provide monitoring, and support of the same
– Proficiency in scripting and automation using a programming language, such as Python, is essential for this role
– Be on-call for network emergencies, disaster recovery, and downtime mitigation
– Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, Skills Knowledge and Abilities:
– Five or more years of practical experience in network design, implementation, and management in an enterprise environment
– Strong working knowledge of the aforementioned systems
– Deep understanding of network security principles, enforcement, and monitoring
– Able to demonstrate advanced networking skills and network protocol understanding
– Advanced knowledge of network security principles and implementation
– Excellent record of documenting network configuration and change management
– Excellent communication skills
– Ability to work independently without direct supervision
– Strong organizational skills
– Ability to switch between multiple projects quickly and self-prioritize tasks involved
Required Licenses and/or Certifications:
– Network or Security Certifications or equivalent certifications in routing, switching, network security, and network design principles

– Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, Rocky)
– Windows Server
– Active Directory
– OpenLDAP
– Python
Working Conditions:
Climate controlled office setting with moderate noise levels. May travel to other buildings within the district to assist staff.
