Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be motivated to set-up & run 3 axis Okuma CNC Vertical centers. Will be responsible for creating, modifying and setting up & running single piece as well as short run production.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsibilities
– Prepare and operate CNC Okuma machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc.
– Design and build proper fixtures for accurate tooling.
– CAD/CAM software knowledge
– Maintain documentation of programming changes and updates per the quality system.
– Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
– Test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
– Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct functions.
– Machine set up to complete full cycles and fabricate large numbers of parts.
– Supervise the CNC machine while executing tasks and make necessary adjustments.
– Inspect and measure finished products and compare with requirements.
– Daily checks and pre-maintenance procedures.
– Read and understand blueprints, mechanical drawings & basic understanding of GD&T, etc.
– Ensure compliance with safety protocols & maintain a clean working environment
Qualifications
– 2 years experience as a CNC machinist.
– High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machining preferred
– Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, instructions and production lists and wire run lists required; the ability to read schematics a plus.
– Must be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) in English.
Compensation
The salary for this position ranges from $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, with time and a half for overtime (40 hours).
