Location: Must live in Southern California

The Genetic Analysis District Manager will be responsible for leading the sales team driving business in the genetic analysis space (Sanger Sequencing/Fragment Analysis and quantitative and digital PCR) and implement commercial strategies to ensure achievement of the annual operating plan. In addition, this person will ensure there is a driven focus on the customer, sales force efficiency, price optimization, targeted promotions, and an effective sales channel strategy. They will be responsible for developing, motivating, and retaining an impactful team.

What will you do?

Implement commercial strategies to ensure achievement of the annual operating plan.

Maintain robust monthly, quarterly and long-term forecasting processes.

Consistently supervises results of sales process including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracking using Sales Force and other designated IT tools.

Driving growth of the GSD business via our channel partners including Fisher Scientific, Fisher Healthcare, and our Biosciences channels.

Regularly provide feedback of field and market intelligence to influence sales, marketing, and division leadership.

Maintain up to date knowledge of Genetic Analysis technologies, products, markets, and customer buying practices required to effectively lead a sales team to compete and grow the business.

Ensures that comprehensive product and application knowledge is used to effectively understand customer needs and position solutions to drive business performance.

Serves as a role model and coach to the front-line sales team in all aspects of the sales process and customer relationship management.

Controls expenses against pre-established budget and submit required reports on a timely basis.

Attract, develop, and retain sales reps. Build teams, inspire others and resolve conflicts. Openly communicate, develop the team, and drive performance.

How will you get there?

Bachelor’s Degree: Biology, Molecular Biology, biochemistry, or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and experience. Master’s degree preferred.

Extensive knowledge of Life Science Research and Clinical Markets (PCR/qPCR/dPCR, Capillary Electrophoresis, Next Generation Sequencing and Microarrays) is highly desirable

Track record of consistent sales achievement

7 years of effective sales representative experience

Experience managing accounts, sales and client relationships

Experience leading sales teams (strongly preferred)

Setting sales strategies and coaching for selling efficiency

Analyzing industry & markets

Planning business, forecasting, and budgeting resources

Capital equipment experience

Understanding of the academic, industrial and government life sciences environment

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $112,000.00–$145,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
