Production Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY
The supervisor will work the weekend shift (Friday-Sunday) and provide leadership and management in operations to accelerate the flow of work safely and most efficiently from plan to delivery. The supervisor oversees all shift operations in a manner that enhances the plant’s safety, personnel engagement, quality of product, delivery and productivity, cost reduction and equipment maintenance. Reports directly to Manager of Operations.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Guides and supports direct reports to achieve expected results.
Direct responsibility for departments employee orientation, training, development and good working and safe practices.
Lead and engage team by driving daily SQDC.
Actively participate in the Safety Committee.
Works as a team with functional area supervisors and managers to accomplish objectives and meet customer and internal requirements of quality, service, and performance expectations.
Supports and communicates information timely between company and employees.
Implements company policy.
Maintains an orderly work environment sustaining 5S, FOD and other CI and environmental improvements and directives.
Responsible for identifying and eliminating waste in all phases of the production processes.
Trains, cross-trains and maintains competency records of employees.
Recommends promotion of qualified and skilled workers.
Reviews, counsels, evaluates, and disciplines employees as necessary.
Prepare yearly performance reviews and disciplinary actions while taking steps required to help employees improve/develop in both instances.
Identifies Recommends proper staffing levels based on production needs.
Monitors and controls cost of manufacturing, including material usage and overtime.
Helps HR to maintain employee records.
Reviews workmanship and handling related problems.
Recognize, address, and implement process problems with Production and Engineering.
Assures proper maintenance of equipment and tooling.
Assist /BOM & ERP System updates / alignment.
Ensure necessary supplies and tools are provided.
Supervises accurate and timely reporting of WIP movement utilizing dispatch reports.
Maintains inventory control and accuracy as required.
Uses SPC principles and applies them as necessary within the production environment.
Provides production assistance to support groups.
Monitor, report, control, find ways to meet or improve employee utilization, efficiency to work order standards and/or productivity.
Perform all other duties as assigned or directed by Manager of Operations and/or GM.
The pay scale for this position ranges from $90,000.00-$120,000.00 annually.
