Under the direction of the Senior Director of Philanthropy, the Manager, Special Events directs and actively leads in the creating, developing and executing of major events for the purpose of fundraising and philanthropic cultivation for Providence Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center. The Manager, Special Events is also responsible for the profit and loss on a per event basis. This position will engage hospital employees, vendors, physicians and Board members where appropriate.

Essential Functions

Develop, execute, manage and evaluate the special events fundraising programs to raise significant levels of financial support among donor and prospect constituencies on a cost effective basis:

Establish project work plans, timelines, coordinate logistics, establish financial goals and related budget for all event-based fundraising.

Identify, develop strategies and secure individual and corporate sponsorships to underwrite events.

Identify, recruit, and organize volunteers and committee members.

Exceptional ability to communicate and lead volunteers with enthusiasm and strong leadership skills.

Developed ability to multi-task extensively, organize and prioritize workload.

Maintain high degree of professionalism and maturity.

Ability to act independently.

Possess experience in developing marketing plans and working with various external vendors in graphic design and printing in preparation of promotional and event-based materials.

Possess creative writing skills and sense of graphic design.

Ability to prepare reports and conduct project evaluation and analysis.

Perform event evaluation and analysis:

Perform written statistical evaluation and financial analysis of each event.

Prepare reports identifying key event participants for potential major gift cultivation and solicitation and linkages to existing Foundation donors and volunteers.

Assist in planning and implementation of other Foundation events and functions:

Provide coordination and oversight to the planning and logistics in support of various Foundation donor cultivation and stewardship events.

Volunteer development, recruitment and recognition:

Continuously identify and recruit new community volunteers to participate in special events programs.

Develop and implement volunteer recognition and appreciation awards and events.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree (preferred)

4 years experience in fundraising events and database management.

Experience in creating and managing large and multi-day events (preferred)

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
