Job Description

1st Shift 3AM on Monday and 4AM-Tuesday – Saturday. Temporary work for 4-6 weeks with potential to turn contract to hire.

Primary responsibility will be assisting with the roasting of the chilies, specifically bell peppers for this round. This project will last about 6 weeks.

Food production experience is a must-have. Candidates will be standing the whole shift and working around bell peppers. Although not a normal spicy chili, it can be strong in odors when roasting. The chile smell can still be strong in the air. Production workers will be taking the stems out of roasted peppers and leaving the meat intact. If candidates have hand or dexterity problems, this job wont work. If they have asthma, it can bother them due to the smell of peppers being roasted. If they have a problem around conveyors (if they get dizzy or have vertigo), this job wont work. Emphasis on standing job, not a lot of overtime in this role but will need the Saturdays to be flexible.

These people will be working on production lines and at tables doing a variety of tasks:

– Stuffing jars with olives, pepperoncini, and other vegetables
– Monitoring jars to make sure nothing has fallen over
– Using a mop or squeegee to move liquid off the floor
– Loading jars onto the production line
– Removing filled/capped jars and placing them in boxes
– Replenishing materials to keep production going such as lids, labels, glass, etc.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in AMERICAN CANYON, California.

Work Environment

This is a fast-paced food production facility. People will be on their feet all day long and working with their hands doing repetitive motion. There is a lot of liquid on the floor from the juices of the vegetables. It is a GMP regulated environment. This means people need to wash their hands before entering the production floor, wear hair nets, beard nets, and BLUE smocks. There is no false nails, lashes, or jewelry allowed on the production floor. They are working with pepperoncini, jalapenos, and olives so the smell is pungent.

Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. occasionally and repetitively, stand for long periods, reach/pull 25 lbs., bend repetitively, and work on or around conveyor belts. The work environment is a food manufacturing setting with varying temperatures and humidity levels, and candidates may be exposed to strong odors and fumes from hot peppers and other products.
