Position Overview:
Provides standard and advanced clerical duties for the Emergency Department, under the direction of the Charge Nurse and/or Manager. Interfaces with all departments, maintain discretion and confidentiality.
Job Description :
Adheres to established and advanced clerical duties for the Emergency Department, under the direction of the Charge Nurse and/or Manager/Director. Interfaces with all departments.
Handles incoming telephone calls and exercises judgment to the urgency or other nature of the calls. Prioritizes and directs them to appropriate personnel and returns calls as directed.
Works closely with nursing unit charge nurse on patients who are being admitted and discharged for correlation of treatment times and transportation. Coordinates all admitted patient with Patient Access.
Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work area. Inventories and orders all office supplies regularly as assigned or needed.
Enters data on records manually or through data entry.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
Monitors and inspects work to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Attends staff meetings as required.
Established and maintains files and records on an ongoing basis.
EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Other: Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
2-3 years medical/secretarial/administrative
EPIC experience
Excellent computer skills and customer service

Proficiency with PC and computer terminal
Compile statistics

Pay Range is $29.24 to $37.03 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
