Position Overview:
Responsible for day-to-day laboratory non-technical operations. Plans, organizes, directs, controls, staffs and schedules the activities of the laboratory, customer service and lab assistant activities. Establishes policies and procedures for the non-technical operations of the laboratory ensuring that standards are established that are consistent, and monitors and evaluates performance standards. Manages the daily operations to achieve continuous performance improvement and patient/customer satisfaction. Complies with all applicable College of American Pathologists (CAP), Healthcare Finance Administration (HCFA), Office of the Inspector General (OIG) and any other applicable regulatory agency.

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Bachelors
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
5 years of recent relevant supervisory or lead experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of basic laboratory information technology and computer concepts
Solid understanding of pre/post analytical laboratory operations and workflows and how departments process/workflow impacts other flows or departments.
Well versed in all aspects of office procedures, phlebotomy and medical terminology as pertains to laboratory testing requirements and processing
Demonstrated leadership skills, including team building, and coaching/mentoring with the ability to motivate and engage others.
Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve technical and operational issues problems as guided by policies, and procedures, or guidance from leadership.
Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle difficult circumstances and make sound business decisions with little direction.
Demonstrates organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects while delivering quality service/achieving business results.
Ability to use essential software and applications associated with the role’s duties and responsibilities.

Pay Range is $39.09 to $50.81 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
