The Role:
The Health & Beauty Account Manager is a proven Health & Beauty sales champion. You’re a pro prospector who’s motivated to develop and manage your own sales channel with other businesses. You’re well connected with major Health & Beauty specialty retailers and department stores and know the right doors to knock on, as well as the pitfalls to avoid. You’re a relational giant with customer service on top of your list of priorities, used to being accountable for the overall success of customer relationships, and a relentless problem solver. You’re a self-starter and team player with strong character and motivated to contribute to our winning team. You thrive when navigating complex customer relationships and provide results through deep understanding of customer needs, translating those needs into innovative and sustainable business opportunities. You are as comfortable sitting with a corporate buyer as you are interacting with store-level personnel.
What Youll Do:
Calling on Health & Beauty Specialty store and Department store decision-makers to gain distribution of our unique line of premium bath salts.
Visiting retail locations to secure authorizations, displays, and educate store-level personnel.
Plan and achieve annual sales growth profitably.
Maintain relationships with the immediate set of key gatekeepers, influencers, and decision-makers to ensure that margins and sales goals are accomplished.
Assure alignment of sales/marketing strategies and promotions with nuances of account base or market segment.
Integrate with key customer team members at all levels to align customer opportunities and business objectives ensuring competitiveness and market share.
Manage and develop the customer base while identifying, investigating, and approaching new alternative Health & Beauty markets, building sustainable, profitable growth.
Collaborate with sales management/leaders/teams to develop overall objectives and growth strategies.
Gather market intelligence, monitor and document, as well as report activities of competition.
Maintain a clear updated view of your sales pipeline.
Identify opportunities to expand company’s portfolio.
Drive new business development, expand territories, build brand awareness, and increase market share.
Actively participate in trade shows.
Adhere to Good Manufacturing Processes, Food Safety Standards and related operational procedures.
Other projects and duties as assigned.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
Ability to work in an agile, dynamic work environment with a start-up mentality and comfortable with taking risks and proceeding through ambiguity.
Travel required up to 60% of the time.
5 years of direct B2B sales experience ideally in the Health & Beauty products industry.
Extensive premium Health & Beauty industry knowledge preferred.
Proven relationship-building skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
Personal experience calling on major consumer Health & Beauty companies located in North America.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining a positive attitude.
Inherent problem-solving skills and outstanding written and verbal communication and listening skills.
Strong computer skills.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Office environment.
Must be able to sit in front of a computer and type/write throughout the day.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Additional Information:
Salary: $80-$90k Annually Bonus/Incentives. This is an exempt position.
