Accounts Receivable Specialist
Job Description
• Processes invoices on a daily basis and reviews project budgets, customer information, sales tax, and product codes for accuracy.
• Works closely with project managers to identify and verify information on a project when there are over or under runs in weight and/or hours. Monitors the status of project change orders for over/under runs.
• Ensures jobs are billed within the appropriate time to accommodate credit department and contract requirements.
• Prepares and generates various scheduled and special reports and participates in special projects relating to the activities of the unit.
• Assists in the performance of internal audits by compiling information and reports for examiners. Reviews information collected in reply to auditor’s request for data.
• Assists the accounting department with journal entries, posting of accruals, posting job cost expenditures, and reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Supports and/or participates in the organization’s Continuous Improvement Program.
• Performs other job duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
Hard Skills
1 year of AR experience
Strong knowledge of Excel (Pivot tables, V lookups, sorting)
Understanding of AR, GAAP, and Accounting
Experience with Contract Invoicing
Soft Skills
Very strong attention to detail
Job Type
This is a contract position with a duration of 6 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Point Of Rocks, Maryland and some days remote.
Work Environment
Hybrid role, 2 days in office a week (usually Tuesday and Wednesday or Thursday), working with 2 others on the team and reporting to the AR Manager. Hours are 8am – 5pm with a 1 hour lunch.
