We are seeking a highly skilled, energetic dynamic Highway Construction Estimator

JOB SUMMARY:

The Pavement Marking Construction Estimator is responsible for developing estimates on both commercial and public works job opportunities.

The person we want to hire shall have 3 to 5 years experience in Highway, paving or any commercial marking estimating.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Determine needed resources (labor, equipment, materials, etc.) from start to finish with attention to budgets.

– Communicate daily with dispatch for most effective scheduling of labor, equipment & materials

– Allocate project responsibilities among field personnel or Superintendent/Foreman

– Manage the projects progress by communicating daily with project Superintendent/Foreman

– Analyzes plan-sets, specifications, proposals, and other construction documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for bidding construction projects

– Prepare preliminary pay estimates

– Detail itemized estimates based on final plans and specifications

EDUCATION:

– Vocational or apprenticeship training supplemented with 3-5 years of construction leadership experience, or equivalent

– Bachelors degree in Business Management or Construction Management or combination of experience and education

EXPERIENCE:

– 5 years experience in road construction industry strongly preferred

SKILLS REQUIRED:

– Ability to analyze and interpret construction plan-sets and specifications

– Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
– Familiarity with OSHA standards
– Proficient MS Office
– Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
– Excellent organizational and time-management skills
– A team player with leadership abilities
