Facility Commissioning Technicians

This position is responsible for the hands-on operation of plant equipment and systems in the field and in facility control rooms. Will communicate with the control area, other facility operators and support organizations to ensure safe, effective facility operations. Will operate material handling equipment, perform operational maintenance activities. Will monitor and operate utility, electrical, mechanical handling, and process equipment. Will perform as well as support required inspections. Will coordinate and supervise delivery of chemicals by subcontractors and unload these materials from delivery vehicles to plant systems. Will also enter radiologically and/or chemically controlled areas in appropriate personnel protective equipment for assigned duties.
This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS
Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
Being continuously aware of radiological, environmental, safety, and any potentially hazardous conditions and notifying supervision and affected organizations when changes occur.
Effectively manage time and complete all delegated work within the specified time.
Assist with preparations and restorations associated with facility maintenance and modification work.
Communicate with the control area, other facility operators and support organizations to ensure safe, effective facility operations.
Operate material handling equipment
Package, label, document, and handle waste for treatment and disposal.
Perform operational maintenance activities
Make notifications and log entries as required by operating procedures.
Participate in event investigations and supply information as requested.
Load and unload raw materials and supplies.
Operate equipment in accordance with procedures from control panels, manually operated levers, switches, buttons, joysticks, computer displays, touch panels, etc.
Replace indicator bulbs, paper, and pens in operations control panels.
Monitor and operate utility (e.g. boilers, compressors, chillers, cooling towers, etc.), electrical (e.g. breakers, switchgear, switches, etc.), mechanical handling (e.g. cranes, hoists, trolleys, forklifts, etc.), process (e.g. evaporators, filters, pumps, heat exchangers, etc.), and special (e.g. melters, remote welders, robotic arms, remote equipment, etc.) equipment in accordance with training and operating procedures.
Sample system fluids, reagents, chemicals, etc. and perform bench top analysis (e.g. pH, density, residual CI, etc.) in accordance with training and operating procedures.
Package and transport samples to laboratory.
Coordinate, monitor and oversee delivery of chemicals (e.g. reagents, glass formers, etc.) and consumables (e.g. fuel oil, etc.) by subcontractors and unloading of these materials from delivery vehicles to plant systems.
Enter radiologically and /or chemically controlled areas in appropriate personnel protective equipment for assigned duties.
Performs daily, weekly, and monthly required inspections, and supports other inspections and /or monitoring teams requiring access to the plant.
Install and remove lockout/tagout.
Monitoring facility and correct housekeeping and materials conditions and report those which cannot be corrected on the spot.
Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team as directed.
Communicate facility system and equipment status to the assigned supervisor.
Monitor and respond to system operating parameter deviations from the specified band and take corrective action in accordance with training and procedures.
Monitor, direct and support activities of personnel working in plant areas.
Maintain accurate logbooks, data sheets and other historical data relating to systems under his/her control.
Assist in analysis of and development of solutions to operating system problems, alarms and unusual occurrences.
FCT (Facility Commissioning Tech)
Operation and monitoring of plant equipment and systems. (e.g. utilities, electrical, mechanical and special equipment.) from control room(s) and, or workplace. Operate material handling equipment and systems. (e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks) to include loading and unloading of delivery vehicles. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly equipment and system inspections/surveillances. Perform duties in radiologically and, or chemically controlled areas. Perform and support operational maintenance activities.
Education and Hiring Requirements:
HS Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to pass a medical evaluation based on the Employee Job Task Analysis (10 CFR 851)
Must be able to pass a math fundamentals entry exam.
Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
Ability to wear required personnel protective equipment (PPE).
This position is represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union (IBEW)
This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and selected candidate must be willing and able to work a rotating shift schedule, 4 days on / 4 days off, 2 weeks days, 2 weeks nights
Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) badge for access to the Hanford site .
Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship

HIRING HOURLY RATE: $43.50 This position is represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union (IBEW) and employed by Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC).
