Role Summary:

The IT Desktop Engineer is responsible for building and implementing endpoint configurations for Windows, and end user applications for both virtual and physical desktop and server environments. Additionally, they are responsible for keeping all Operating Systems and applications up to date and patched, ensuring full reliability and accessibility to the business. In addition, the Desktop Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users for endpoint devices and serves as next tier support to the internal IT Service Desk on more complex issues.

 

What You Will Be Doing:

1. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for desktops/laptops/servers, printers, and other peripherals.
2. Install, configure, and maintain desktop/server operating systems, applications, and software updates.
3. Collaborate with IT team members to resolve escalated issues and implement solutions.
4. Manage user accounts, permissions, email, and anti-virus/malware applications.
5. Ensure desktop/server security and compliance with IT policies and procedures.
6. Conduct software/hardware upgrades and evaluations to improve system performance.
7. Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
8. Assist with IT projects, including planning, deployment, and migration of desktop/server technologies.
9. Monitor and respond to system alerts and performance issues.
10. Provide end-user training and support for new technologies and applications.
11. Test, deploy, and manage client images and provisioning for Windows endpoints.
12. Manage, maintain, and evolve enterprise client management systems such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Endpoint Manager (Intune).
13. Responsible for configuring, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the virtual desktop environment for an ever-growing remote workforce.
14. Create relevant technical documentation to train or guide end users across the organization, as well as other support areas.
15. Ensure vulnerability mitigation and the security of endpoints through quick and accurate deployments of patches, upgrades, and configuration optimizations.
16. Serve as a support point of contact for escalations of end-user inquiries seeking technical assistance.

 

About You:

Knowledge and experience working with Windows 10, Windows 11 and Windows Servers

Strong experience with MECM/SCCM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager)

Strong experience with MDT (Microsoft
